The John Scott Gallery opens on 16 October and will house one thousand, three hundred indi- vidual tiles and three hundred-and-ten pan- els from the mid-nineteenth century through to the mid-twentieth century. Works by numerous renowned designers, including Pugin, Dresser, Morris, De Morgan and Bawden, will be included. The dedicated gallery, which has resulted from the renova- tion of what was originally a workroom in the Craven Dunhill tile factory, will pay homage to collector Scott's generosity by featuring a space that reflects the flamboyance of his own sitting room, with rich colours and tiles Pif Paf with Submercycle of every description spilling out over the walls and ceiling.
