-1- Annex 2 PRINCESS SRINAGARINDRA AWARD The Princess Srinagarindra Award Foundation The Princess Srinagarindra Award Foundation was established in commemoration of the Centenary Birthday Anniversary of Her Royal Highness Princess Srinagarindra Mahidol, His majesty the King’s mother on 21st October, 2000. The Foundation is under the Royal Patronage. The Award One Princess Srinagarindra Award is conferred annually upon an individual registered nurse and/or registered midwife or group of registered nurses and/or group of registered midwives who have made a significant contribution, through direct care, research, education or management, within the nursing or midwifery profession and/or for the development of the nursing or midwifery profession. Each award consists of a certificate and a sum of US$ 30,000. Nomination An individual registered nurse and/or registered midwife or group of registered nurses and/or group of registered midwives may be nominated by national nursing authorities or by individual or group of individuals in nongovernmental capacity, as candidates of the Award. Nominations are submitted to the Secretary General of the Princess Srinagarindra Award before May 31st each year. Screening and selection The Secretary General of the Princess Srinagarindra Award Foundation forwards the nomination forms to the Panel of Scientific Advisors for initial screening. Once reviewed by the Panel of Scientific Advisors, the nomination forms are forwarded to the International Award Committee, which comprises a number of world-renowned experts in the fields of nursing and public health. The International Award Committee considers and recommends names of the proposed Awardees to the Board of Trustees of the Princess Srinagarindra Award Foundation for final approval. Announcement 2017 -2- Award Criteria The nomination will be considered under the following criteria. 1. Initiation 2. Practical Importance 3. Significance to nursing and midwifery / health / policy at the national and/or international levels 4. Devotion, Commitment and Achievement. 5. Leadership and management capability Award Ceremony The Princess Srinagarindra Award Ceremony is usually held at the Chakri Throne Hall, the Royal Grand Palace, Bangkok, Thailand and was presided over by the Chairperson of the Board of Trustees , the Princess Srinagarindra Award.
