IOWA WILD REPORT – JANUARY 7, 2020 The Iowa Wild went 3-0-0 in three games last DATE OPPONENT LOCATION TIME (CT) week and is 7-1-0 in its last eight games. The Wild Wed., January 8 San Diego Pechanga Arena 9 p.m. earned a 5-4 home victory against the Stars Fri., January 10 San Diego Pechanga Arena 9 p.m. (12/31). F Sam Anas (1-2=3) and F Kyle Rau (1- 2=3) led the team with three points each. D Sat., January 11 Bakersfield Mechanics Bank Arena 9 p.m. Brennan Menell tallied two points (1-1=2). G Kaapo Kahkonen made 20 saves. Iowa recorded a 5-1 home win vs. Rockford (1/3). F Gerald Mayhew registered four points (2-2=4). Anas tallied three assists. Menell (0-2=2), Rau (0-2=2) and F Nico Sturm (2- 0=2) collected two points apiece and Kahkonen made 29 saves. The Wild claimed a 5-1 win at the Chicago Wolves (1/4). Anas led Iowa with three assists. F Luke Johnson (2-0=2) and Mayhew (2-0=2) recorded two points each. G Mat Robson stopped 32-of-33 shots. Anas leads the Wild and ranks third in the AHL with 37 points (9-28=37) and was named CCM/AHL Player of the Week (1/6). Mayhew leads the team in goals and shots and ranks second in scoring with 35 points (23-12=35). He leads the AHL in goals, ranks fourth in shots and T-4th in scoring. Rau ranks third on the team with 31 points (7-24=31) and has tallied a point in 12 of his last 13 games (3-19=22) since Nov. 16.
