Company Name: Cardigan Bay Fish ​ 1. Why did you establish the company? With no infrastructure in Wales for selling fin fish, Mandy started selling our coracle caught wild salmon and sewin and our bass, then came the opening of St.Dogmaels local produce market and it has carried on from there. 2. Describe your business. Small family business with two ten metre vessels working along the Pembrokeshire and Ceredigion coast, Mandy prepares our fish and shellfish, while Len runs one boat and our son Aaron runs the other. We only sell the fish that we catch and all from Welsh waters. 3. How was attending the Royal Welsh Show last year beneficial to your business? Being able to do the Royal Welsh is a fantastic opportunity for any business, especially for the fishing industry, it is a massive platform, where better to show off the fantastic produce we have in Welsh waters. The amount of interest was amazing and people wanted to know all about our industry and the produce we have in Wales. A very big thank you to Port to Plate and the Seafood Cluster for the opportunity. 4. Where do you hope to see the business and the Welsh Seafood industry within the next 10 years? Our business continues to grow and hopefully will continue that way, more and more local people are now eating Welsh fish and shellfish and that has always been one of our goals. 5. If you go out to eat Welsh Seafood, what’s your favourite restaurant? Unfair to pick just one out, we would have to say Wright's Food Emporium Llanarthne amazing crab sandwiches and crab linguini, the Pentre in Llangrannog always a good choice of Welsh seafood, and the 1176 Cardigan Castle do lovely Welsh lobster. 6. What’s your favourite seafood dish to prepare at home? Our favourite seafood dish at home is simple, wild coracle caught Teifi sewin cooked in foil with Welsh butter and lemon, Pembrokeshire new potatoes with locally grown asparagus. Simple, easy, no fuss, best of combinations and on our doorstep. .
