This is the third part of a four-book series that also includes Twilight, New Moon and Dawn. There are also two other books belonging to the saga; First, Midnight Sun, this version of Twilight is narrated from Edward's perspective, and the latter, Bree Tanner's Second Short Life by Bree Tanner, focuses on Bree, an Eclipse supporting character who talks about his life as a neophyte. There is also an official Twilight guide for fans. This novel managed to sell more than 150,000 copies in the first 24 hours. It was also the fourth bestseller in 2008, having only been edict by Twilight, New Moon and Dawn (books of the same saga). Like its predecessors, this novel included an adaptation released on June 30, 2010. Eclipse received generally positive reviews. Critics have emphasized the study of more mature themes than those of its predecessors, praising the love triangle presented by this novel. The cover cover consists of a photo of a torn red bow and is almost split in half. Stephanie Meyer noted in an interview that for her, the cover of Eclipse symbolizes Bella trying to cut off with her human life and the difficulties that it does represent to her. It can also mean the breakdown of the friendship between Bella and Jacob. The name of the eclipse also makes sense, which goes in relation to the plot of this book, as it is a love triangle between Bella, Edward and Jacob, such as the Moon, the Sun and the Earth, when the eclipse occurs. In the book, Bella tells Jacob that he was the sun that illuminated the darkness in which he remained when Edward left, but now that he is back, it would be impossible to see him anymore (for Jacob). Jacob adds that his sun may struggle with darkness (when Edward leaves it), but not the eclipse (when Edward returns and outsows Jacob). Rather, however, his focus is on the strange behavior of his father, Charlie, who overturns the punishment under which he was. Bella continues her relationship with Edward, ignoring the opinions of others. Once in high school, Bella realizes that Alice has a vision, but when she asked Edward about her, Edward changes the subject, mentioning the Florida tickets Esme and Carlisle gave them, offering to use them, to which Bella says no. Bella and Edward travel to Jacksonville for the weekend, having a pleasant visit with Renee, who is able to discover Edward's vast feelings for Bella. Back in Forks, Edward and Bella learn that Jacob tried to call Bella. As soon as Jacob manages to contact Bella, Bella just asks her certain questions and hangs up, leaving her at a loss. The next day Edward and Bella is not well received at school Jacob, who begins a very tense conversation with Edward, about which Bella does not understand anything. It was between classes that Edward explains to Bella that a chase broke out for Victoria on Saturday, and during his escape there was a terrible confusion between the Cullen and Lycanthrope barriers. During one of Bella's usual working days, Bella remembers Jacob, and when she realizes that she has a day almost free, she uses the Cullen hunt to visit Jacob and keep up with everything that has happened in Italy. In this lapse, Bella realizes that no matter how much Jacob seeks to respect the Cullens, it is impossible for her. This prompts her to leave, ignoring Jacob's stories, such as the priming phenomenon and Sam's tragic story. Later Bella helps Angela with her invitations to finally return home, where she has a small fight with Edward, who warns her of continuing to see lycanthropes; finally, both reconciled. Rosalie visits Bella and tells her about the unfortunate outcome that took her life when she became a vampire, this with the intention of saving her from the same fate. The next day at school, Jacob shows up to rescue Bella from Cullen-style prison. The two started to have a good time together, but Bella gets upset Jacob disapproves of his plans to become a vampire, which makes him return discouraged to his house to spend time with Edward. Returning from Cullens' stay, Bella realizes that there is not enough clothes in her room, which leads her to assume that it was Alice who took her. When Edward enters Bella's house, he discovers an unknown vampire smell. Taking this evidence and the deaths that took place around Forks, they realize that Victoria created an army of neophytes to attack the Cullens so she could kill Bella. At the prom Bella suddenly come wolves, who, learning about the events, form an alliance between vampires and lycanthropes. Bella feels like becoming a vampire so she can help, although she is ultimately unable to do so. Calles realize that Vulturi are going to learn about the neophyte army, but Alice sees nothing, because the wolves are connected with them. When Alice finally manages to see the future, she warns everyone that the Victoria Army will soon arrive. Jasper, who understands neophytes the most, trains both Cullens and wolves. After training, Jasper tells Bella his tragic story with Maria, a vampire who was transformed into a hundred years ago. Bella, Edward, Jacob and Seth camp in a secluded spot in the meadow where the fight will take place, in order to protect Bella. Jacob lets Bella know the possibility that she will never come back from a fight with neophytes, and that's when Bella realizes that she loves Jacob, but not so much as Edward. When there is a confrontation, Victoria manages to find Bella and appears in her shelter along with the neophyte Riley. Edward confronts Victoria and Seth does the same with Riley. Seth is on the verge of death when Bella cuts the hem to distract the other vampires, which is why Edward and Seth manage to win and then return to the meadow to meet with Vulturi. Once the case is resolved, Vulturi will leave without stressing Bella's next transformation. Back at his favorite meadow, Edward proposes to Bella on his mother's wedding ring. Bella agrees. Development, inspiration and influence. Meyer completed the Eclipse project before the release of Twilight in October 2005. However, he claimed that the final manuscript was not much of a return on the project. Initially, the book had a different ending when Eclipse was intended to be the final book in the series, as Meyer signed a three-book cast with Little, Brown and Company. She stated that the eclipse events focus on Bella's choice to become a vampire and fully understand the price she has to pay to present that she doesn't understand in Twilight and New Moon (previous novels). He said that every aspect of the novel revolves around this point, every back story, every relationship, every moment of action. According to Meyer, the book was inspired and influenced by Emily Bronto's Wuthering Heights, although he doesn't like the book. She said the characters in the book fascinate her and she likes to read certain parts, but she doesn't like the book as a whole because she finds it very depressing - an opinion expressed by Edward in Eclipse. Comparing Edward and Jacob to Heathcliff and Edgar Linton of Wuthering Heights, she said, You could look at Edward and Jacob from the perspective and say, Well, this is Heathcliff, and this is Edgar. And someone might say, no, wait a second. For this reason and for this reason, it is Heathcliff and another Edgar ... I like this confusion because it's life. In August 2009, The Telegraph reported that HarperCollins, the edition of Wuthering Heights - which has a Gothic cover similar to Twilight covers - has sold more than 10,000 copies since May of that year, more than double the traditional edition of Penguin Classics and surpassed the list of classic book newspapers. For the first time because of the reference to Meyer's novel. Marketing and start-up campaigns. Marketing campaigns. A few months before the launch of Eclipse, Meyer hosted the Eclipse Prom event at Arizona State University with the help of a local bookstore and ASU English department. Tickets sold out in seven hours, so Meyer held a second dance on the same day; again the tickets are sold out within four hours.
