We are half way through 2019 and there are some exciting events to look forward to in the second half of the year. South Africa’s most celebrated book festivals are almost here and I hope you have taken time out to check how you can be involved or to simply buy a ticket and attend the event. The 11th Jozi Book Fair (JBF) will be taking place from 29 August – 1 September 2019 at Mary Fitzgerald Square, Newtown, Johannesburg. From 4–8 September is the Open Book Festival in Cape Town. The hubs will once again be the Fugard Theatre, The District 6 Museum Homecoming Centre and much-loved indie bookshop, The Book Lounge.
