LEGISLATIVE HISTORY OF ARTICLES OF INCORPORATION OF COOPERATIVES The Legislature authorized the incorporation of cooperative associations under the same provisions as for other corporations [Laws 1919 c382, amended Laws 1921 c63, and Laws 1923 c326]. The incorporation of cooperative marketing associations was authorized in 1923 [Laws 1923 c264]. SCOPE AND CONTENTS OF THE RECORDS Articles of incorporation of cooperative marketing and mercantile companies, warehouses, elevators, creameries, livestock and shipping associations, and others dealing largely with farm produce marketing and other rural services. Some include draft copies, amendments, bylaws, articles of merger, and/or certificates of dissolution. Many files are missing. Also housed in this series are a list of cooperatives instituting proceedings for dissolution (December 30, 1955), an alphabetical index card file of cooperatives, arranged by city (ca. 1928- 1962), and an alphabetical index card file of cooperatives not included in the main articles of incorporation set, arranged by cooperative (1941).
