Since 1888, WMU has been on mission with God. Through its 120 year history, WMU has followed the biblical mandate of Acts 1:8 and Matthew 28:18-20. Today WMU has nearly ¾ of a million members involved in missions, ministry, witnessing, and prayer. The purpose of Mid-South Baptist Woman’s Missionary Union is to assist the churches within the association to be on mission and to lead the association itself to be committed to and be involved in missions both locally and globally. Missions is the work of God through the church by which the gospel of Jesus Christ is extended in word and deed to all people of the world. Your church can impact the world for Christ through missions. Let Mid-South Baptist WMU help you. Imagine what your church could accomplish if every member: • Prayed for missions. • Engaged in mission action and witnessing. • Learned about what God is doing in the world today. • Support missions work. • Developed spiritually toward a missions lifestyle. • Participated in the work of the church and the denomination. How can Mid-South Baptist WMU assist your church? • Partnering with you to customize your missions discipleship needs. • Strengthening already existing mission involvement. • Provide information about resources and missionary speakers. • Teach mission leaders how to plan events, such as, prayer retreats, mission fairs, mission trips, and mission action projects. • Provide opportunities for participation in mission involvement and/or witnessing. 2 Laborers together with God. 1 Corinthians 3:9 Mid-South Baptist Woman’s Missionary Union Director Sherry Hall······························································· 901-299-0599 Email: [email protected] Ministry Assistant Julia Binford ····························································· 901-373-6161 Email: [email protected] Web Page: www.msbac.org/wmu Financial Support Information: All donations for ministry involvement (except Baptist Hospital Auxiliary) should be sent to the Mid-South Baptist Woman’s Missionary Union. This is accomplished by building partnerships, providing staff, developing ministry re- sources, planning for future expansion and empowering existing work. The BCMM is a subsidiary corporation of the Executive Board of the Tennessee Baptist Convention. The BCMM Board of Directors and staff have developed a plan called the 2015 Vision as a guide for further expansion into the metro Memphis area. The goal of the 2015 Vision is to establish and sustain a BCM presence on the five major campuses in metro Memphis: University of Memphis, University of Tennessee Health Science Center, Southwest Tennessee Community College, Christian Brothers University and Rhodes College. There are over 60,000 college students in the metro Memphis area. The BCMM cannot reach these students without financial help. In order for the BCMM to operate at 100% on all five campuses we need $176,514 per year or $20.15 per every hour in a 365-day year. The 2015 Vision encourages people, churches, and organizations to give in increments of the number 2-0-1-5 (For example $20.15, $201.50, $2,015.00, etc.). In addition to their Co- operative Program giving, currently 11 churches in the Mid-South Baptist Association support the BCMM by including us in their church’s budget. Please include the BCMM in your church’s annual budget.
