Resolution - Adopted The Chairman placed the following Resolution before the House:–– ―We, the Members of Rajya Sabha, in the sittings of the Rajya Sabha held on the 27th and 30th of November and 1st of December, 2015, for celebrating the ‘Constitution Day’ as part of the One Hundred and Twenty-fifth Birth Anniversary celebration of Dr. B. R. Ambedkar:- Having remembered with gratitude, the commitment of the Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi, the pioneering and monumental role played by Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, Dr. Rajendra Prasad, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, Maulana Abul Kalam Azad and other founding fathers of our Constitution and their contribution in enabling us to adopt, enact and give to ourselves the Constitution on the 26th November, 1949, which commenced on the 26th January, 1950; and Having recalled with appreciation, the invaluable services rendered by Dr. B.R. Ambedkar as the Chairman of the Drafting Committee of the Constituent Assembly and all its members in the framing of the Constitution of India; Do hereby solemnly re-affirm our commitment to the principles and ideals of the Constitution, and resolve to continue to - !
