UTV Home Video launches its Hollywood and World Cinema Collection Launch with 5 world-class titles including Pulp Fiction, The Crossing Guard directed by Sean Penn and Wes Craven's Cursed Mumbai October 29, 2007: UTV Home Video launches gems from the Miramax library – a collection of some of the best Hollywood and World Cinema titles on DVD and VCD. Setting the ball rolling is a set of five films, as much box-office hits as critically acclaimed. These include, Pulp Fiction, The Crossing Guard, Cursed, The Brother’s Grimm, The Amityville Horror. UTV Home Video plans to launch atleast 6 titles every month. These DVD’s are priced at Rs. 299 and Rs.399 and VCD’s are priced at Rs.149 and Rs. 199 and would be available at all leading retail outlets across the country. Pulp Fiction, a 1994 film by the celebrated director, Quentin Tarantino is a crime drama with a fragmented storyline. The cult film, which saw major commercial success, is known for its rich dialogue, mix of humor and violence, and its host of cinematic and pop culture references. Pulp Fiction was nominated for seven Oscars and was awarded the Palme d'Or at the Cannes Film Festival. It's leading man, John Travolta and co-stars Samuel L. Jackson and Uma Thurman received Academy Award nominations. The Crossing Guard, a suspense drama, is written and directed by Sean Penn, the Academy Award winning actor and director. This gripping 1995 film narrates the story of a father whose daughter is killed in a hit-and-run accident. Still devastated six years after the death, he plots revenge on the drunk driver who killed her. The Crossing Guard stars Jack Nicholson, David Morse, Anjelica Huston and Robert Wright Penn. Cursed comes from the creators of Scream. A horror film directed by Wes Craven, Cursed focuses on three young adults who are attacked by a werewolf set loose in Los Angeles.
