Don’t have Unlimited Data? You can change Broadband or Mobile Plan today! A series of significant consumer commitments made by the telecommunication industry in the context of the current COVID-19 crisis. Commitments have been made by BT Ireland, eir, Pure Telecom, Sky Ireland, Tesco Mobile Ireland, Three Ireland, Virgin Media Ireland and Vodafone. The three main points are: 1. Any fixed broadband customers who do not have unlimited usage already as standard will be given the opportunity, if they require, to upgrade their package (which may be on a temporary basis), with their current service provider. 2. Any customer who does not have fixed broadband and who relies solely on mobile access to the Internet will have the opportunity to avail of an affordable unlimited mobile data access package from their service provider. 3. Fair usage policies will not be automatically applied to unlimited fixed and mobile data packages. AONTAS – The National Adult Learning Organisation have developed a step by step guide on how to access unlimited mobile data. This resource could be shared with students, individuals and communities who may find this of benefit https://www.aontas.com/assets/resources/Information/Step-by- step%20guide%20Unlimited%20Mobile%20Data%20-2%20(2).pdf For more details visit ComReg: https://www.comreg.ie/consumer-information/covid-19-information/consumer-commitments/ Telecommunications Industry Ireland, the IBEC group for the sector: https://www.ibec.ie/connect-and-learn/media/2020/04/15/telecoms-industry-announces- covid-consumer-response-initiative Note: This is not freedom from bills, it is the right to change contract without penalties. .
