SPPR NO.10740 RESOLUTION NO. _____ Series of 2015 RESOLUTION CONGRATULATING AND HONORING RANDY PETALCORIN FOR WINNING THE WORLD BOXING ASSOCIATION (WBA) INTERIM JUNIOR FLYWEIGHT TITLE IN HIS BOXING MATCH AGAINST AGAINST MA YI MING LAST APRIL 24, 2015, HELD AT THE CAPITAL GYM IN BEIJING, CHINA Hon. Tan – Sponsor WHEREAS, the local government of the City of General Santos has in several occasions paid tribute to outstanding Filipino athletes in the professional boxing league for their outstanding feat of bringing pride and hope to our country; WHEREAS, commendation for herein following boxers are highly suitable; WHEREAS, Filipino boxer Randy Petalcorin (23-1-1, 18KOs) scored three quick knockdowns to stop Ma Yi Ming (12-6, 7 KOs) April 24,2015 in the first round of their bout at the Capital Gym in Beijing, China at about the 1:43 mark; WHEREAS, Randy Petalcorin continued to pound away with 1-2 combinations, and after toppling Ming for a third time, referee Raul Caiz Jr stopped the bout at about the 1:43 mark; WHEREAS, Randy Petalcorin rated no. 6 by The Ring Magazine at 108 pounds, was competing for the second straight time in China and has remained unbeaten in the last five years; WHEREAS, Randy Petalcorin's recent fight and victory once again inspired their fellow Generals; WHEREAS, Randy Petalcorin displayed a high quality of sportsmanship and professionalism, earning him the respect of boxing fanatics nationwide and worldwide; NOW, THEREFORE, on motion of City Councilor ____________, duly seconded by _____________, be it – RESOLVED, as it is hereby resolved, to congratulate and honor Randy Petalcorin for winning the World Boxing Association (WBA) Interim Junior Flyweight Title in his boxing match against against Ma Yi Ming last April 24, 2015, held at the Capital Gym in Beijing, China.
