" # Home / Elena Mosuc To Headline New Production Of ‘I Lombardi’ ! # $ % & Elena Mosuc To Headline New Production Of ‘I Lombardi’ By Francisco Salazar # 2 hours ago $ 0 Comments The Opera Maghiara di Cluj Napoca in Romania has announced a new production of “I Lombardi alla Prima Crociata.” The new production by Csaba Némedi will showcase legendary soprano Elena Mosuc in her role debut as Giselda. The production will also star Sorin Lupu, István Kovács, Orsolya Veress, Arnold Gergely, Zsombor Rétyi, László Mányoki, Adorján Pataki, and Judit Hary. Szabolcs Kulcsár will conduct the production. Mosuc stated in a resent interview with OperaWire that the role “is generally done by dramatic sopranos, but singers like Mariella Devia, Luciana Serra, and Renata Scotto also performed and did it with their voices. I will do it with my voice, which has also been able to do ‘Norma.’” The opera will mark Mosuc’s latest Verdi role. She has previously performed “La Traviata,” “Rigoletto,” “Luisa Miller,” and “Il Trovatore,” among others.
