Dr. Scott Hoopes was appointed as the Superintendent of the Pittsgrove Township School District by the Board of Education at the March 15, 2018 meeting. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Health and Physical Education in 1989, and a Master of Arts degree in Student Personnel Services in 1994 from Rowan University (formerly Glassboro State College). Dr. Hoopes then earned a second Master’s degree in 1996, and his Doctorate in Education in 2001, both in School Administration, from Widener University. Dr. Hoopes began his educational career as a Health and Physical Education Teacher at Haddon Township High School, where he worked from 1989 to 1994. There, he also served as the Head Coach for Boys Soccer, JV Coach for Boys Basketball, and the JV Coach for Girls Track and Field. He was later appointed as a Guidance Counselor at Highland Regional High School in 1994, where he was also the Sophomore Class Advisor and JV Boys Basketball Coach. Dr. Hoopes pursued a career in school administration where he became an Assistant Principal at Lower Cape May Regional High School in 1997. He then worked as an Assistant Principal at Washington Township High School from 1999 to 2000. Dr. Hoopes was appointed to his first Principal position at Collingswood Middle School in 2000. Most recently, he was employed by the Woodstown-Pilesgrove School District as the Principal of Woodstown High School, where he worked for 16 years. Dr. Hoopes is excited to join the Pittsgrove Township School District and become an integral part of the Pittsgrove Family. He is a strong believer in stakeholder engagement and plans to be very active, not only in the schools, but throughout the community, as well. Dr. Hoopes looks forward to the 2018-2019 school year, and to the many possibilities for the Pittsgrove Township School District. .
