SHAVUOS AT-HOME DAVENING & KIDDUSH GUIDE Erev Shavuos ● Regular weekday Mincha (daven before 8:51pm). ● Candle lighting (Siddur pg 296) should take place at 7:40pm. .followed by Shehechiyanu להדליק נר של יום טוב The beracha for candle lighting is ● First Day of Shavuos Sunday Night, May 16th ● Ma’ariv for Yom Tov (Siddur 330-336, 660-670, 350) with the proper insertions for Shavuos. ● Kiddush should not begin before tzeis hakochavim (nightfall) which is at 9:51pm. ● Kiddush for Yom Tov with Shehechiyanu. (Siddur 658) ● Birkas haMazon (Grace After Bread Meals) after the meal (Siddur 182) Monday Morning/Afternoon ● Pesukei D’Zimrah for Shabbos and Yom Tov (Siddur 368) (Siddur 408 grey box) .המאיר לארץ Birchos Kerias Sh’ma begin with ● ● Shacharis Amidah for Yom Tov (Siddur 660) with the proper insertions for Shavuos followed by complete Hallel (Siddur 623-642) with its berachos.with its berachos. ● There is no requirement to recite Akdamos (Siddur 714) when davening at home but one is permitted to do so. Shemos 19:1-20:23 (Siddur 966), the Maftir is בחדש השלישי Torah reading for the first day is ● ,Bamidbar 28:26-31 (Siddur 968) and the Haftarah is from Yechezkel 1:1-28 וביום הבכורים 3:12 (Siddur 968). ● Mussaf Amidah for Yom Tov (Siddur 674) with the proper insertions for Shavuos. ● Ein Kelokeinu followed by Aleinu is recited after mussaf (Siddur 476-480) ● Anim Zemiros (Siddur 484) should not be recited without a minyan. Shir shel yom for Monday (Siddur 162). ● Mincha Amidah for Yom Tov (Siddur 660) with the proper insertions for Shavuos. Mincha should be recited before shekiyah (sunset) which is at 8:52pm. Candles should be lit .להדליק נר של שבת ויום טוב Bracha for candle lighting (Siddur 296) is ● after 9:51pm. Second Day of Shavuos Monday Night ● Ma’ariv for the Second Night of Shavuos/Shabbos. (Siddur 330-336, 660-670, 350) .before the Amidah וידבר (We recite (Siddur 336 ● ● Ma’ariv Amidah for Yom Tov (Siddur 660) with proper insertions for Shavuos. ● Aleinu is recited after the Amidah (Siddur 350). ● Kiddush for Yom Tov (Siddur 658). Shehechiyanu is recited. Tuesday Morning/Afternoon ● Netilas Yadayim, Birchos HaTorah and Birchos Hashachar (Siddur 14-20) ● Pesukei D’Zimrah for Yom Tov (Siddur 368) (Siddur 408 grey box) .לארץ המאיר Birchos Kerias Sh’ma begin with ● ● Shacharis Amidah (Siddur 660) for Yom Tov with the proper insertions for Shavuos, followed by complete Hallel (Siddur 623-642) with its berachos. ● Megillas Ruth is traditionally recited with the tzibur (congregation) at this point — The custom to read Megillas Rus was clearly instituted only for a tzibur. Nonetheless, one may read Megillas Rus without a tzibur. One should be conscious of the fact that such a reading would not constitute a fulfillment of the original minhag. Devarim 14:22-16:17 (Siddur 964), the Maftir עשר תעשר Torah reading for the second day is ● Bamidbar 28:26-31 (Siddur 968) and the Haftarah is from Chabakuk 2:20- וביום הבכורים is 3:19 (Siddur 969). One may recite Yetziv Pisgam (Siddur 969), though it is not required. ● Yizkor (Siddur 810) can be recited without a minyan. One should make sure to pledge money to tzedakah before reciting Yizkor. ● Av HaRachamim (Siddur 454) should be recited (even if one does not recite Yizkor), followed by Ashrei (Siddur 456) ● Mussaf for Yom Tov (Siddur 674) with proper insertions for Shavuos. ● Anim Zemiros (Siddur 484) should not be recited without a minyan. ● Ein Kelokeinu followed by Aleinu is recited after Mussaf (Siddur 476-480) ● Shir shel yom for Tuesday (Siddur 164). ● Mincha for Yom Tov (Siddur 660) with proper insertions for Shavuos. ● Shekiyah (sunset) is at 8:53pm. Mincha should be completed before shekiyah. Tuesday Night ● Ma’ariv for the Conclusion of Yom Tov. (Siddur 256) ● Weekday Silent Amidah (Siddur 266) should be recited, including Atah Chonantanu (Siddur 268 middle grey box). ● Kiddush Levanah (Siddur 612) should be recited (weather permitting). ● Havdalah is the standard Havdalah for Motzaei Shabbos. (Siddur 618) .
