The Open Debate in Stans is open to the general public. We are looking forward to a diverse, interactive and creative discussion with people from various backgrounds and with high-level panelists. You can also participate with our Livestream. The gender dimensions of social conflict, armed violence and peacebuilding are multifaceted and complex. Twenty years after the path‐breaking UN Security Council Resolution 1325, gender has been mainstreamed into most peacebuilding activities but adequate implementation on the ground is hampered by the current lack of evidence‐ based promising practices. The r4d research project "Gender Dimensions of Social Conflicts" tries to overcome this lack and assembled gender, security and conflict researchers from Indonesia, Nigeria, Switzerland and the United Kingdom (UK). Over a period of 7 years the researchers were gathering data during extensive field research and are presenting their final findings now in Stans. The research framework is designed as a micro-level study of intersectionally gendered conflict management and peacebuilding practices, comparing communities in three regions of Indonesia and Nigeria that have experienced different types of conflict.
