UTV gets Rekha, Katrina and Aditya together for a classic love story The film to be directed by Abhishek Kapoor 15th May: UTV Motion Pictures today announced a scintillating star cast for Fitoor which includes the never-before seen pairing of the gorgeous Katrina Kaif and the handsome Aditya Roy Kapur along with eternal beauty Rekha in the role of a lifetime to be directed by Abhishek Kapoor. Fitoor, an adaptation of Charles Dickens’ classic, “Great Expectations” is the passionate love saga of a young artist Noor, played by Aditya Roy Kapur, and a beautiful heart breaker Firdaus, essayed by Katrina Kaif. Rekha plays the role of the mercurial Begum, who is the catalyst in this tempestuous love saga that spans decades and continents. In keeping with its setting, the movie is going to be shot across many locations in North India including Kashmir and Delhi, as well as an international destination. Fitoor has everything it takes to make a larger-than-life love story; a timeless star-cast, a magnificent Kashmiri setting, a musical milieu, and the definitive touch of a director who knows his craft. The film is scripted by Supratik Sen and Abhishek Kapoor, and will be produced by UTV Motion Pictures in association with Guy in the Sky Pictures. It is scheduled to go on the floors in August 2014. The film emerged as the 4th highest grosser of all-time amongst Hollywood films in India. Iron Man 3 released in 2013 became the highest Hollywood grosser for the year. More recently Captain America: The Winter Soldier became the second largest Hollywood film in India for the year 2014 so far and academy award winner Frozen emerged as the 3rd biggest Disney animation title in the region. Prior to this, Cars 2 and Pirates of the Caribbean 4 released in 2011 and were the biggest animation and live action titles of all time for Disney in the country. In 2010, Prince of Persia became the highest grossing western film in India that year. Earlier, Disney released its first live action Hindi feature Do Dooni Chaar in 2010 and subsequently after the success of the film, released Anaganaga-O-Dheerudu, a Telugu feature targeted at the southern audiences and second Hindi live-action film Zokkomon. Upcoming Disney branded movies include Khoobsurat, P.K., ABCD 2 and Jagga Jasoos.
