The win moved VMI to 7-2, and continued the Keydets’ best start since 1976-77, when the squad opened the season 22-1. The home squad scored the first 16 points of the second half, as six different players scored in the opening five minutes. The spurt was capped with a Keith Gabriel three-pointer with 15:08 remaining, and Campbell never seriously threatened again.
