PROJECT: Mining of Road Metal & Building Stone PRE-FEASIBILITY REPORT APPLICANT: M/s. B. Srinivasulu Stone Crusher 1.0 EXECUTIVE SUMMARY 1.1 Introduction The mining area of 3.00 Ha. in survey no. 186 of Devabetta Village, Yemmiganur Mandal, Kurnool District has been leased to M/s. B. Srinivasulu Stone Crusher for a period of 10 years by Deputy Director of Mines and Geology, Kurnool. The proposed area is not fit for agriculture and the Department of Mines and Geology indicate that the subject area has mineral deposits for extraction. The salient features of the project are given Table 1.1. Table 1.1 The Salient Features of the Project Project Name Road Metal & Building Stone Mine of M/s. B. Srinivasulu Stone Crusher Mining Lease Area 3.00 Ha Location of Mine Sy.No. 186 of Devabetta Village, Yemmiganur Mandal, Kurnool District, Andhra Pradesh. B. Srinivasulu Stone Crusher 2.0 INTRODUCTION OF THE PROJECT/ BACKGROUND INFORMATION 2.1 Identification of Project and Project Proponent The Quarrying area for Road Metal & Building Stone has been leased to M/s. B. Srinivasulu Stone Crusher in Sy.No. 186 of Devabetta Village, Yemmiganur Mandal, Kurnool District by the Deputy Director of Mines & Geology, over an extent of 3.00 Ha. for a period 10 years. B. Srinivasulu is the Proprietor and he has been in this business since the last 10 years. 2.2 Brief Information about the Project The mining lease area is about 3.00 Ha. is located in Government land. Open cast semi mechanized mining is followed and it has been proposed to produce approximately 75682 Cum/annum of Road Metal & Building Stone material. The nearest habitation from the proposed project is at a distance of 1.00 km ie. Devabetta village. 2.3 Need for the Project and Its Importance to the Country or Region The demand for Road Metal & Building Stone has increased due to rapid industrialization and growth in infrastructure. So the number of Road Metal & Building Stone producing quarries is increasing in India. Road Metal & Building Stone have to produce as they form the aggregate in the concrete mixture used in the construction industry. The Indian Railways also requires the material for the maintaining the existing network and also for the never ending expansion. As per EIA notification 2006 project proponent is submitting the proposal to get Clearance for production capacity of 3225 Cum/annum from District Level Environmental Appraisal Committee/District level Impact Assessment Authority of Andhra Pradesh constituted by MoEF&CC, GOI for the purpose of grant of quarry lease for which Notification is issued. PFR-II PROJECT: Mining of Road Metal & Building Stone PRE-FEASIBILITY REPORT APPLICANT: M/s. B. Srinivasulu Stone Crusher 2.4 Demands-Supply Gap There is huge demand since the material is used extensively in Construction, Railways, Roadways and many other sectors. This project will help in reducing the Demand-Supply gap in the area. 2.5 Domestic/ Export Markets The material is used in the domestic market and in there is no scope for exporting the material. 2.6 Employment Generation Proposed mining is semi mechanized method and this project operation will provide livelihood to the 34 workers. It will provide employment to the people residing in vicinity. 3.0 PROJECT DESCRIPTION 3.1 Type of Project Including Interlinked and Interdependent Projects, If Any. The proposed mine area is of 3.00 Ha. area, No interlinked projects are associated with this project. 3.2 Location of the project The mining lease area is located in Survey No. 186 of Devabetta Village, Yemmiganur Mandal, Kurnool district, Andhra Pradesh. The mine lease area falls in Survey of India Toposheet No.: D43F6 Google map is given in Figure-1. Srinivasulu Stone Crusher 3.3 Details of Alternate Sites No alternate site was considered as the project is mineral specific and site specific. 3.4 Size or magnitude of operation The proposed mine has lease over an area of and the 3.00 Ha., production rate is 3225 Cu.m/annum. The lease follows open cast other than fully mechanized mining. 3.5 Geology and Reserves 3.5.1 Topography Topographically the Quarry lease area is a plain land gently slopes towards all directions. Generally it is low lying plain land with an average altitude of 435m above M.S.L. and dendritic to sub dendritic drainage is observed. The area is elevated towards South West of the QL applied area and sloping towards NE directions. The area is devoid of any forest or tree cover. It comprises big size Boulders and shrubs only. 3.5.2 Geology The country rock here belong to the Archaean and Cuddapah Systems. Veldurthi is situated on Granite Gneisses of Archaean age, which are closely associated with Amphibolites and Epidiorites representing original basic rocks, which have since been metamorphosed to their present condition. The rocks are traversed by lences and dykes of pegmatite and vein Quartzites. Lenticular inclusions of these and of the basic rocks are frequently seen in the gneisses near Veldurthi. The boundary of the Achaean rocks with the succeeding formations- the Cuddapahs- runs just East and West of Kurnool. The later rocks are marked by a line of low hillocks having an NS trend. The basal beds of Cuddapahs, seen near 10 to 15 miles of Kurnool- Yemmiganur road are course grained Sand stones and) Conglomerates. Near the base, the pebbles in the Conglomerate are sometimes as large as Coconuts, but gradually diminish in size further upside direction. The pebbles are of Quartzite, Quartzite with Jasper or ferruginous Quartzite. The pebble beds are found mainly between mile 10-15 on the Yemmiganur road, though they occasionally reappear furt her up in the sequence also. \ PFR-VI PROJECT: Mining of Road Metal & Building Stone PRE-FEASIBILITY REPORT APPLICANT: M/s.
