Syrian Arab Republic: UN-led inter-agency special relief convoys into hot-spot areas (as of 31 October 2013) 34 UN-led UN-led inter-agency special relief convoys (1 January - 31 October 2013) TURKEY 2.43 million beneficiaries reached from January till October 2013 Aleppo H! Idleb** Ar-Raqqa UN-led inter-agency special relief convoys are primarily but not exclusively, accompanied by international UN staff. The convoys target H! Al-Hasakeh hot-spot areas, seeking to reach people in urgent need of life-saving humanitarian assistance. Convoys enhance humanitarian access ! H! H through negotiations with actors on the ground and the establishment of by-pass routes. Once access into hot-spot areas has been Aleppo Ar-Raqqa Deir-ez-Zor established, agencies have been able to provide additional assistance !H Idleb through regular programme delivery. Lattakia Hama H! Hama Convoys indicated on this map do not include assistance delivered H! through regular assistance programmes by the UN and humanitarian MediterraneanTartous Sea partners. Such programme activity ensures assistance delivery to H! Deir-ez-Zor people in all 14 governorates of Syria, including regular food H! Homs* assistance. UN-led convoys include: Logistics Cluster, UNDSS, OCHA, UNHCR, Homs WFP, UNICEF, UNRWA, UNFPA, WHO, UNDP, IOM, IMC, PU and IRAQ SARC. The routes indicated on this map are only approximate.
