Pursued post-doctoral level research at Manchester Business School, University of Manchester in 1995. Has blend of Industry and academic experience of about ten years. Joined IMI Delhi in February 1, 1994. Worked for American Express Bank, World Bank -New Delhi, ILO and IDRC. Member of the American Economic Association, Euro-Asia Management Studies Association, Global Awareness Society International, USA. Taught International finance, Development Economics, Development Planning and Project Appraisal and Macroeconomics at the Department of Economics, University of West Indies, Barbados during the period 2001-2005(June) as a visiting Faculty. He holds the Associated Cement Companies Chair Person in International finance and Business at IMI, Delhi. The Institute established a research unit entitled, “Prospect of Indian Cement Companies’ Business in the Neighbouring Countries” with a generous ACC endowment under his leadership. Author of more than 100 scientific articles on international economics, macroeconomics and economic development. His opinion pieces have been published in leading newspapers including Times of India, The Barbados Advocate, Business Authority, The Daily Star, Economic Times, Hindu Business Line, Anandabazar Patrika and Desh. He is the International Advisory Board member of Asian Business and Management and the member, editorial Board of e-Social Sciences. Authored four books . Has been a consultant to a number of Indian companies, Government of India and multilateral institutions, including Associated Cement Companies, Ministry of Rural Development, ILO-SAAT, CIDA, and UNIDO.
