Call 360-225-8308 x 9 Such large crowds gathered around him that he got into a boat and sat down, and the whole crowd stood along the shore. -Pastoral Emergencies: Call 360-225-8308 x 9 And he spoke to them at length in parables, saying: “A sower went out to sow. And as he sowed, some seed fell on the path, St. Philip Conference and birds came and ate it up. Some fell on rocky ground, where it had little St. Vincent de Paul soil. It sprang up at once because the soil was not deep, and when the sun PO Box 1150 rose it was scorched, and it withered for lack of roots. Woodland WA 98674 Helpline: 360-841-8734 Some seed fell among thorns, and the thorns grew up and choked it. But some seed fell on rich soil and produced fruit, a hundred or sixty or SUPPORT OUR thirtyfold. Whoever has ears ought to hear.” ADVERTISERS St. Philip Parish 430 Bozarth Ave, Woodland WA Priest Administrator: PO Box 2169 Father Brian Thompson Woodland, Washington 98674 Priest for Hispanic Ministry: St. Joseph Mission Father Jerry Woodman 136 North 4th St, Kalama, Washington 98625 Office: 360-225-8308 Mailing Address: PO Box 2169 Woodland WA 98674 EMAIL: St. Mary of Guadalupe Mission [email protected] 1520 North 65th Ave, Ridgefield, Washington 98642 Mailing Address: PO Box 2169 Woodland WA 98674 Parish Website: St. Mary Cemetery For Plots: 360-225-8308 www.stphilipwoodland.com Dear Parishioners, Noting the uptick in people signing up for Mass, the staff has convinced me that we should start moving toward resuming our ordinary Sunday Schedule and locations (5pm Vigil, 9am, 10:30, Noon). Now, there will be two important exceptions folks will need to be aware of. First, moving the Vigil back to Kalama will trail behind, as I will need to see whether with Sunday Masses at the later times of 9am and 10:30am the attendance will go down to a level such that we can fit those signed up in the church at St Joseph. There is also the question of very limited top-of-the-hill parking, as the school district has torn up most of the parking lot we use. Second, while we are working to schedule Fr Jerry and possibly the Holy Cross Fathers (albeit different ones than those who whom we are accustomed), most substitute priests are in vulnerable categories and few are presently available. There will be situations from time to time where a priest is not available, and a given Mass may not be celebrated. In such a case, we will not have a Sunday Celebration in Absence of a Priest (Communion Service); the church will simply be closed that day. I know this has been a long process, and it is unfortunately not anywhere near over yet. I am personally rather hesitant for many reasons, not least of all that I do not want anyone to feel disillusioned or cheated when or if he comes to a customary Mass time or place and it is not Mass as normal. Please remember that there will not be social time, or music, or servers, or a number of other things until further notice. You will see the Mass sign-up form change to reflect this beginning next week. Remember that the deadline to sign up for Mass is Wednesday night. Walk-ins will be allowed, but the only way to guarantee a seat is to sign up. Sign up. We would have returned to the full compliment of masses more swiftly had more people signed up in the past.
