Land and Resource Management Plan Preface Ochoco National Forest August1 989 The Ochoco National Forest Land and Resource Management Plan (Forest Plan) was prepared in compliance with 36 CFR 219, based on the Forest and Rangeland Renewable Resources Planning Act (RPA) as amended by the NationalForest Management Act of 1976, and incompliancewth40 CFR 1500 based on the National Environmental Policy Act of 1969. Because the Plan is a major Federal action significantly affecting the quality of the human environment, an environmental impact statement (EIS) was pre- pared. The Plan provides direction for implementing the preferred alternative selected in the EIS. If any particular provision of this Forest Plan, or the application of the action to any person or circumstance, is found to be invalid, the remainder of the Forest Plan and the application of that provision to other persons or circumstances shall not be affected.
