If I send a complaint every time there s excessive airport noise, I ll be sending you five or ten complaints a day. Is that what you want us to do - send ten complaints a day? Where do we start, perhaps with the unnecessarily loud ferry foghorn early in the morning and late at night, especially on Sundays when there s no fog. The aircraft two minute warm-ups on the ground are seriously disruptive in our homes, and the stench of aircraft fuel in the Music Garden is sickening. I ve vomited twice already when gagging on aircraft fuel fumes in the Music Garden. And then there s the noise of helicopters that wake us up after midnight. This is one noisy fucking airport and I really resent the fact that you re in my neighborhood, especially when our sleep is interrupted all night long by aircraft noises. So, what was the time of the incident? Which incident, there are so many. I m hearing aircraft noise right now at 4 in the afternoon, and it s the same every hour. But I don t think the Port Authority cares about our personal problems, so what s the use of filling out complaint forms. Aircraft Category Non - Aircraft Related Response: Comments noted. With regards to sounding of ferry horn, this is a marine regulation. Re: “With regards to notifying pilots to avoid low overflights of the community,......invoice for landing is issued to a visting pilot, a copy of the Good Neighbour Policy is attached to the invoice.” Your cynical and dismissive responses to the community’s concerns about noise, the TPA’s forcing of airport expansion through despite the wishes of Torontonians and Toronto’s mayor, your landing planes outside of the hours stipulated in the legally binding Tripartite agreement, your use of Q400s which also violate the Tripartite agreement’s rules on noise, your pilots’ continued over-passing of the community, your pilots’ flying tightly around the community so that emissions spew into the air that the people breathe, your removal of the very few bike posts at Union Station so that your mostly empty buses may idle on the sidewalk, your abuse of the queuing lanes at the foot of Bathurst Street that run adjacent to a park, a daycare and a school certainly don’t give any impression that the TPA or Island Airport care about the community it resides in. Obviously giving your pilots slips of paper is not working. Aircraft Category Non - Specific Response: AFTNS tracked Porter taking off at 0657h. Within normal operating hours. This is what we recorded, times may not be exact: 18:19 - Q400 landing (it was an all encompassing noise) 18:23 - repeat 18:23 - 18:43 - 7 smalll engine planes take off 18:45 - a deafening helicopter 19:07 - Q400 take off (jet fuel fumes and noise) 19:23 - Q400 take off - as above 19:39 - another loud helicopter We went inside after becasue it was too much noise and pollution - I m not sure I can entertain on the balcony or even want to sit out on it as this night was my first attempt at using my balcony since I moved there last Fall. this is not acceptable in terms of quality of life. I was at the Alexandra Yacht Club at the BBQ and could not hear people speaking for the non stop noise of a plane waiting to take off. By the time it did another damn plane was reving its engine waiting to take off. By 9:35 it was relatively quiet again. Honestly, how do the people on the Waterfront stand it..... It is awful.
