WOMBELL - born 09 December 1849 in Jackson County, FL admitted to the Bar 1876 served as Assistant Secretary of State in 1877 private secretary to Governors Drew, Bloxham and Perry during several sessions df the legislature was enrolling clerk for the Senate and was Commissioner of Agriculture from December 31, 1888 until his death died 27 December 1900 survived by one son, Lucius, who was born in 1891. JOHN C. LUNING - ~o~n 21 December 1863 at Albany, GA moved to Leesburg, FL was publisher of the Leesburg News (later the Leesburg Commercial) was an orange grower, ice manufacturer and merchant served as Postmaster, Treasurer and Mayor of Leesburg served as Chairman of the local school board and Chairman of the Board of County Commissioners .-----------. married Miss Allie Adams of Leesburg in 1884 one son, Dr. Henry McIntosh Luning, practiced medicine in Atlqnta; he' died in 1916 another son, Bern ard Adams, 1ived in Ta 11ahas see with his mother when John Luninq di~rl moved to Tallahassee to serve as a confidential clerk to B. E. McLin, Commissioner of Agriculture appointed Commissioner of Ag~iculture, on McLin's death, by Governor Albert Gilchrist two weeks later was appointed State Treasurer, serving in that position until his death died 26 September 1928. WILLIAM A. McRAE - born 22 July 1970, on his father's plantation near Sopchoppy, FL taught school and was later elected Superintendent of Public Instruction in Jackson County (FL) elected Clerk of the Circuit Court and remained there until 1912 appointed State Commissioner of Agriculture in 1912 by Governor Gilchrist served three terms, from 1912 until 1923 member of the Methodist Church and the Masonic order married Virginia Parker in 1942, a native of Georgia died 1942, survived by three sons: Major William A. McRae, Jr., U.S. Army, Washington, D.C.; Roy P.McRae, serving overseas with the Army; .-,,--.....,- and Corp. Ralph J. McRae, Ft. Sill, OK. Had one brother,L.D.McRae of Chipley.
