This is a tall order, considering the family circumstances of many of the kids we serve, but one our staff embraces and actively promotes every day. Club leaders recognize that pursuing this vision requires a panoply of programs to appeal to the unique interests and needs of the thousands of kids who walk through our doors each year. You will be impressed with the breadth of programs the club offers, and with the national recognition many of those programs have earned. Each program takes tremendous effort and appreciable resources to develop and sustain, and every program offers the opportunity for kids to peek behind the doors, find what resonates for them, and then pursue success, whether academically, socially, artistically, athletically, musically or otherwise. 94% of Club members believe You are reading this because you believe in the potential of every child and have personally invested in their future. Out of hundreds of entries from across the nation, BGCA gives out only 21 total awards each year. Since 2003, the Boys & Girls Club of Green Bay has received 18 national honor awards. We’re proud to say that this makes our Club the most recognized in the nation. HONOR AWARD FOR BEST OVERALL PROGRAM The Thomas H. Lutsey Unit received the Honor Award for Best Overall Program in the $500,000+ budget category. The award recognizes the Club for the best comprehensive program among organizations of a similar size. A total of 30 Boys & Girls Clubs — many from much larger metro areas — were nominated. Through a variety of programs, our Club’s teens dedicated more than 980 hours of volunteer service in 2013. 11 / HIGHLIGHTS & AWARDS HIGHLIGHTS & AWARDS HONOR AWARD FOR PROGRAM EXCELLENCE IN THE ARTS The Club’s Traveling Artists program received the top honor for program excellence in the Arts. Traveling Artists merges community-based art-making Last summer, 37 youth sessions with bicycle riding. Club members ride to community locations participated in the Traveling throughout the summer to draw, paint and create nature-inspired artwork.
