The call represented a double celebration it also marked the return of OOCL to the UK’s largest container port after a 17 year absence. Commenting on the two events, Clemence Cheng, Chief Executive Officer of the Port of Felixstowe and Managing Director of Hutchison Ports Europe, said: “The OOCL HONG KONG is the latest in a line of mega vessels to call at the Port of Felixstowe. The port’s location close to the main shipping lanes and the ports of Northern Europe, combined with a unique combination of road and rail connections, makes it the first choice for the latest generation of giant container ships.“Our relationship with OOCL goes back 40 years and we are delighted to welcome them back to the Port of Felixstowe as part of the Ocean Alliance. Crews from St Mary’s, Winchester, Romsey, Redbridge and Cosham are attending the scene at Southampton docks. Hampshire Fire and Rescue were called There have been no casualties but a spokesperson said there is a cordon in place. One container is leaking on board the VECCHIO BRIDGE. The ship is a twelve-year-old vessel measuring almost 295 by 32 metres. A spokesperson for DP World Southampton said: “We can confirm that 14:20 a member of staff found a container to be leaking on board the vessel Vecchio Bridge. Joint working with HFRS, SCAS, DP world and Hants Marine Unit at a leaking hazmat tank container on board a ship "As a responsible port operator we have robust procedures and initiated an action program straight away. "We are working closely with the emergency services and details about the content of the cargo have been shared with them. "The fire brigade is on site and monitoring the situation which is contained on board the vessel. "As precaution, vessel operations on the VECCHIO BRIDGE have been suspended. Under these contracts, SBM Offshore will construct, install, lease and operate a floating production, storage and offloading vessel (FPSO). This follows completion of front-end engineering studies and the final investment decision on the project by ExxonMobil. The Liza field is located in the Stabroek block, which covers almost 27,000 square kilometers, circa 200 kilometers offshore Guyana. Esso Exploration and Production Guyana Limited is the operator and holds a 45 percent interest in the Stabroek block. Hess Guyana Exploration Ltd. holds a 30 percent interest, and CNOOC Nexen Petroleum Guyana Limited holds a 25 percent interest. The FPSO is designed to produce up to 120,000 barrels of oil per day, will have associated gas treatment capacity of circa 170 million cubic feet per day and water injection capacity of circa 200,000 barrels per day. The converted VLCC FPSO will be spread moored in water depth of 1525 meters and will be able to store 1.6 million barrels of crude oil.
