A pupil at Twiss Green Primary School, Culcheth, Lucy had previously taken part in the festival as an attendant on three occasions. She was crowned in a ceremony during a service in church and led a procession through the village to the Parish Hall, where lunch was enjoyed. Lucy is a keen horse rider, with her own pony, and is also a member of Culcheth Guides.
