These artifacts highlight the different types of music found in the Three Grand Divisions of Tennessee. From West Tennessee there is “The Memphis Blues” written by W.C. Handy. He is known as the Father of the Blues. The Fisk Jubilee Singers are a group of talented young men and women who perform around the world. They attended Fisk University here in Nashville, Tennessee. Dolly Parton comes from the hills of East Tennessee. She is probably one of the most well-known music artists from Tennessee.
