Virginia Lemay Stender Collection Consists of a Number of Large Plastic Bins Identified by an Alphabetical Arrangement of Letters, A-Q, a Total of 27 Bins

The Virginia LeMay Stender Collection consists of a number of large plastic bins identified by an alphabetical arrangement of letters, A-Q, a total of 27 bins. The collection, boxed after her death, may not retain her original organization. Boxes contain notebooks identified by the names she provided. These have been alphabetically ordered within storage boxes in the Fiske Library to facilitate cataloging them. She was a member of more than a dozen lineage societies so boxes contain membership proofs as well as computer print outs going back into early Medieval and royal lines. Many notebooks contain photo copies or computer printouts of these families and may duplicate materials that may now be obtained elsewhere, or on line. Her main work seems to be a book on the Veale family, compiled and typed by Robert L. “Bob” Veal. It is in three sections: 1. The Veale of Gulval 2. The Descendants of Christopher Veal, 1987, 2003, 2006 3. Members of Veale of Gloucestershire, England A notebook containing this manuscript is stored in Box H. Box K also contains a pedigree printout of Virginia LeMay’s ancestry Box M also contains a pedigree, and a full notebook on her brother, Harold Eugene LeMay of the LeMay Automobile Museum in Tacoma Box Q contains an Ahnentafel chart for Virginia LeMay back some 22 generations to Plantagenet lines. The notebook is titled LeMay, Kin of Virginia LeMay. The notebooks do bring together much research on the particular names she researched. Notebooks in this first box are labeled as follows with a brief description of the contents of each book. Additionally, there is a small notebook on the Prescott Family.
