For more information, visit www.unileverusa.com Title: Global Senior CTI (Consumer Technical Insights) Manager/ Group Leader Position Summary: The key job role is to lead the Consumer Technical Insights (CTI) program and Claims work stream for the Global Skin Care business that covers several brands like Vaseline, Dove, Ponds, Fair & Lovely. • Drive the use of consumer, sensory, clinical and technical data and integrate these into insights to develop compelling claims and consumer relevant stories for each brand. • Assist in the development of the Consumer Led Insights and Claims strategy. Responsible for delivering the Programs and Projects necessary to deliver the a holistic insights strategy and effectively managing resources for on time in full delivery. • Set strategic and tactical direction for Insights program – framing both the strategic implications and Project plans in a clear, logical and compelling manner, and working independently to align key stakeholders to both the Program and Project Plan. • Develop and execute strategic understanding plans that will cover appropriate consumer testing program to support category design projects. • Develop new research approach (thru existing and external test methods) to provide a deep and sound understanding of our consumers, consumers’ needs and identify technical gaps and opportunities for future R&D work. • Develop and maintain strong relationships internally and externally (industry and academia) to identify and bring new opportunities to CTI that will advance the platforms and programs. Evaluate potential opportunities with scientific rigor and diligence to ensure applicability to insight innovation. • Interaction in a multi-disciplinary business environment, providing a critical link between the business, particularly the R&D team, and the consumer. • Define and refine key consumer insights (preference drivers, segmentation, needs, etc.) to drive product development and innovation Position Responsibilities: Expertise in integrating technical and consumer data to generate insights and create stories for Brand claims and communications. Expertise in understanding global/ regional consumer needs to deliver insights into upstream projects Identify, assess, frame and drive internal and/or external opportunities related to insights programs and projects that align with the strategic direction of our businesses and will drive new opportunities/ innovation. Expertise in new research techniques to unlock consumer and technical insights that will drive the Skin Care R&D Sensory programs and Claims roadmaps Provide thought leadership and technical expertise to cross-functional partners through consumer insight driven guidance to enable them to successfully deliver ROI and/or business continuity opportunities. Manage complex consumer test plans that span across different product formats in Skin Care that will be offered in various regions. Identify insights that will drive new product & pack opportunities for new projects portfolio, based on analysis of trends, consumer needs, new technology impact on consumers , initiating & designing understanding plans etc Lead Category strategic understanding plans that will feed into the Global Skin Care Design projects. Product Benchmarking and Gap opportunities analysis vs. competition to guide portfolio management. Experience : - Minimum Requirements : BS - MS, Psychology, Food Science, Nutrition, Sensory Science, Chemistry or related scientific discipline (Advanced technical and/or business degree strongly preferred) - 8+ years of relevant experience with demonstrated proficiency in the synthesis and integration of business, consumer and technical information into viable business solutions. - Ability to effectively express ideas and concepts both orally and written format. - Ability to link and leverage internal and external connections to inform and advance insight driven technology platforms and programs. - Superior analytical and decision making skills (risk-based) - Experience and expertise in current and emergent and consumer insight methods and demonstrated skill in leveraging insight tools to fuel business growth and open new opportunities - Strong interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills - Ability to motivate, coach and develop a high performing team of scientists.
