Council Digest – February 28, 2014 Draft Environmental Impact Report - Peninsula Corridor Electrification Project Caltrain has released the Draft Environmental Impact Report (EIR) for the planned electrification of the Caltrain corridor between San Jose and San Francisco, a major milestone in the railroad’s efforts to improve its commuter rail service. The DEIR can be viewed by the public on the Caltrain website www.caltrain.com/electrification and members of the public can submit written comments through April 29, 2014. To assure the full range of public comment, Caltrain has extended the required 45-day comment period to 60 days. Caltrain will conduct four public meeting in March and April to obtain public comments on the Draft EIR. Nicole began her employment with the City in 2012 in the Public Works department as an Office Assistant, where her colleagues describe her as being creative, flexible and able to fulfill many different support roles both in the Engineering and Transportation Division. In July 2013, Nicole began working in the City Manager’s office several days a week to provide administrative support (after Pam Aguilar was appointed Interim City Clerk). Nicole’s technical skills, fresh ideas and ability to interface with different levels within the organization with professionalism & a sense of humor make her a vital asset to the City Manager’s office. Prior to Menlo Park, Nicole worked for Wells Fargo Bank in San Francisco and at San Francisco State University. When not at work, Nicole enjoys hiking and spending time with her family and her new puppy Buddy. San Mateo Local Agency Formation Commission Accepting Applications for Public Member Representative The San Mateo County Local Agency Formation Commission (LAFCo) is now accepting applications for Public Member and Alternate Public Member representatives to the Commission. To be eligible, you must be a resident of San Mateo County and not a current officer or employee of the County/a city/or special district. The term of office is four years, expiring May 2018. LAFCo was created by the State Legislature to make decisions on the boundaries and organization of the cities and special districts in San Mateo County. Recognized as Knows a Better Way to Commute one of the nation’s leading regional transportation demand In 2013, San Mateo County Health System (SMCHS) agencies, the Alliance has been developing, promoting, and launched a new commute alternatives program called supporting alternative transportation solutions for San Mateo Way2Go. The program includes transportation fairs, County businesses and residents since 2000. workshops and personal commute planning to help employees choose an alternative to driving alone to work.
