MURRUMBIDGEE LOCAL HEALTH DISTRICT Media Release Friday 25 June 2021 RESTRICTIONS INTRODUCED AS COVID CASES CONTINUE IN NSW Murrumbidgee Local Health District (MLHD) advises COVID-19 restrictions are now in place in the Murrumbidgee region for anyone who has travelled to Greater Sydney and the local government areas of the Central Coast, the City of Shellharbour and the City of Wollongong. MLHD screens all visitors to hospital and health services facilities. Visitors who have travelled to Greater Sydney in the last 14 days will be excluded from all MLHD facilities. Masks must also be worn by persons who have been in Greater Sydney or any of the identified hotspot areas in the previous 14 days when they are in indoor areas outside of Greater Sydney (unless an exemption applies). “Across NSW screening and mask wearing is an important line of defence and we are taking these measures to protect vulnerable people in our care and our staff,” said MLHD’s COVID Coordinator Emma Field. “The situation with this latest strain of the COVID-19 virus is fast evolving and we ask our communities to continue to support the effort by maintaining COVID safety.” “Particularly during this time as we enter school holidays we appeal to people to be especially vigilant with their COVID physical distancing, hand hygiene and mask wearing.” MLHD reminds the community to get tested if they feel even the mildest symptoms. MLHD testing clinics are based in Cootamundra, Deniliquin, Griffith, Hay, Leeton and Wagga Wagga. These clinics are available by appointment made through the COVID-19 Hotline on 1800 831 099. They are free and completely confidential. Testing is also available through Commonwealth funded GP-Led Respiratory Clinics in Griffith, Deniliquin, Gundagai, Tumut, Wagga Wagga and Young.
