Followed by Messrs S & T Cornelius who realised £96 for their 1st pen. Hill Bred ewes to £59. 114 Fat Hoggs A much faster trade for all weights, over all average of 204.8 and more Hoggs could have been sold. Top per kilo was 215p for 2 pens of 42kgs to £90.50, from Messrs R & S Reskelly, Rooke Farm. Top per head this week was £94.20 for 2 pens of 47 kgs from Tim Harris, St Tudy, followed by Messrs D & L Maloney, Beeches Farm, Tavistock, who realised £94 for 45kgs. 240 Store Hoggs A flying trade from start to finish with only average and small framed Hoggs on offer, saw several pens around £70 and over to a top of £78, from Messrs RW & GM Reskelly, Rooke Farm, Wadebridge. Couples Small entry met more interest with doubles realising a top of £175 for Suffolk x from Nigel Taylor, Henjapel, St Wenn. STORE CATTLE AUCTIONEER RICHARD DENNIS 160 Store Cattle Tremendous trade at Hallworthy, 160 Stores raced away with a packed ring looking ahead to stock up before turnout. Todays top went to Mr L R Pengelly of Falmouth, with a run of 14 Simmental and Hereford x Cattle at 18-20 months. An outstanding run start to finish saw a bunch of 2 at £1205, another pair to £1200 and £1190 for x3, with 4 more bunches to £1060 upwards. Mr Trevor Wellington from St Kew saw his best to £1200, a well fleshed Heifer at 22 months. Mr S P Nicholls of Drift, Penzance saw the best of his run top out at £1105 for a pair of Limousin x Steers. Best Freisian from T Hannaford of Moor View Whitstone, saw 2 bunches of 6 at £725 and £700. Younger Cattle were at a premium with Mr D F Hobbs of Tapphouse, Liskeard, with 2 bunches of Aberdeen Angus Named Sire Steers at 10 months, these topped at £795. Mr R W Radford of Boskednan House, Penzance, saw the top of his run of 20, 8-10 month calves achieve £695, for a bunch of Limousin x Steers, and another bunch of Dairy x Steers to £635, 3x British Blue Heifers at 8 months to £645. North Devon Steers topped out at £800 for Mr P Simms of Wadebridge. Cull Cows Top cull cow went to Mr Bayley of Lower Newham Farm with a Hereford x to 110 ppkilo.
