We looked at their own action plan and quality assurance paperwork. These demonstrated their priorities for development and how they were monitoring the quality of the provision within the service. From this inspection we graded this service as: Quality of care and support 5 - Very Good Quality of environment not assessed Quality of staffing 5 - Very Good Quality of management and leadership not assessed What the service does well Particular strengths were the way the children used the outdoor play areas, the involvement of people using the service and the addition of family learning events. We saw happy, confident, independent children involved in a range of play activities. Staff listened to what children had to say and respected and acted on their views. Children's success was recognised and celebrated. Staff applied the wellbeing indicators of (SHANARRI) from the national framework 'getting it right for every child', and had incorporated the language of the wellbeing indicators into everyday activities and experiences. The children participated in free play and a range of initiatives. They particularly liked 'the treasure chest' and 'golden coins'. They were encouraged to achieve and their success was celebrated. There were opportunities for the staff team to discuss children, their needs and how they could be supported to continue to achieve. Health, wellbeing and safety were given significant importance and linked to their improvement plan. Staff encouraged and supported children to be healthy. Children had access to outdoor play and used these areas similar to the way the inside is used. They decided where to play and how long to spend here. Staff were stationed here as part of the routine and outdoor play was a particular strength of the service. The natural environments provided children with a range of interesting areas to freely explore. The staff team were open to initiatives and best practice. They behaved in a professional manner towards children and families, taking responsibility for their actions, valuing teamwork and supporting and mentoring each other. The management monitored the delivery of the service and met with the staff team and other professional's to discuss the children and any support that staff and families might need. The parents really enjoyed the family learning events including the 'you and your child programme' and felt valued and supported. They spoke highly of the service and staff. Since the last inspection, extended hours of care are offered and changes to the staff have occurred. They management and staff team were aware of strengths and where to make improvements. They understood the aims of the service and were confident in carrying out their role. They had identified areas of improvement and were in progress of using 'how good is our early learning and childcare' to evaluate aspects of the service.
