He retired in August 1995 as general counsel and professor of business administration for Truman State University (formerly Northeast Missouri State University) in Kirksville after 22 years of service. During his tenure at the university, he also served as dean of administration for five years during the university’s transition to a liberal arts and sciences institution. Since his retirement from the university, he served a four-year term (2001-04) as a county commissioner for Adair County.
