Pittsburgh, .846, 88-16; 2. Duke, .838, 88-17; 3. Gonzaga, .835, 81-16). ■ Amassed a 39-9 Big East league record with three straight 13-3 seasons from 2001-04, a record that ties for second among the best all-time Big East Conference basketball three-year spans. ■ Completed its third consecutive season ranked among the nation’s top-10 schools, one of only three schools to achieve this honor (Pittsburgh, Duke, Kansas). ■ Advanced to the Big East Championship Final in four consecutive seasons (2001-04), one of only two programs in league history to achieve this distinction. ■ Ranked among the nation’s top-10 programs in 32 weekly polls and listed among the top-25 in each of the last 43 consecutive polls. ■ Totaled a 51-2 home record from 2001-04 including a 35-1 record in the two-year-old Petersen Events Center. Additionally, the program won its first 34 games in the Petersen Events Center, the third longest win streak to open an arena in NCAA Division I history (1. UCLA, 51; 2. Providence, 41; 3. Pittsburgh, 34). ■ Completed a school-record 40-game home win streak (11/23/02-2/29/04), a streak which spanned two years and 68 days and included 34 Petersen Events Center wins, 20 Big East wins, 28 opponents held to 60 points or less and an average victory margin of 18.5 points from 2001-04. ■ Limited opponents to a combined 58.8 points per game on 39.0 percent field goal shooting. ■ Appeared on television a total of 72 games, an average of 24 times per year (15-ESPN, 6-ESPN2, 3-ABC, 12-CBS, 36-ESPN Regional).
