The Ring of Steel (audio story) | Tardis | Fandom However, joining the protesters against the horrible pylons an energy Doctor Who: The Ring of Steel has been dotting around the landscape sounds like fun. But when one of the protesters physically attacks a pylon, things start going wrong. Swept apart by the violence, Amy and the Doctor not only have to find each other, but to save the people around them. Amy is with the protesters who escaped, trying to get the wounded to the hospital. Worse, the pylons have pulled themselves out of the ground and started to give chase. The Doctor has been taken away by Doctor Who: The Ring of Steel personnel, guards who turn out to be wizened, sick old men, decades older than the people in their badge photos. His voice is clear and understandable slightly moreso than I find it on TV. If his imitation of Matt Doctor Who: The Ring of Steel is slightly wobbly, his Amy is fairly solid, and he seems to be having fun with the accents of the original characters. The story is also quite solid, which is to be expected from Stephen Cole. Thus, it can be easily recommended to any new, classic, or all-era fan. Your email address will not be published. Actual rating is 2. This is an audiobook that is based on the television series. In this one, the Doctor and Amy arrive on a future Orkney where there is a protest against the pylons that Doctor Who: The Ring of Steel been erected all round the island. Suddenly, these pylons come to life and all chaos breaks loose. Arthur Darvill narrates this story who played Rory in the show. This is a Doctor Who: The Ring of Steel weird because Rory isn Actual rating is 2. This is a little weird because Rory isn't featured in this story. If I was rating this solely on the narration this book would get ten stars. In a word Darvill's narration is awesome. His other characters were brought to life and his narration was the one bright spot of this book. Sadly, the story was a little weak and I just could not give it the three stars for a rating. For a show that sometimes borders on the silly, walking pylons crosses the line for me. And the aliens that were controlling them just did not do it for me. This was a very quick listen and it was just okay. This would have been a filler episode of the show that one would quickly say let's Doctor Who: The Ring of Steel back to the overall story arc. The narration is amazing and I am going to check out if Arthur Darvill has done more audiobooks. If he has, I have to get my hands on them because he Doctor Who: The Ring of Steel me look forward to listening to an average story.
