Get access to more than 14 billion data points from public and proprietary sources within one, easy-to-use interface. LexisNexis Statistical DataSets gives you the Web-based tools to unearth vital facts—and uncover interesting relationships among 590 different sets of data. Select and compare criteria from a wide variety of subjects ranging from employment to housing and economic indicators to crimes—even the weather. There’s more. Use LexisNexis Statistical DataSets to build graphic-rich charts that track the trends, rank performance and map the statistics you find. Then export to PDF or other options. With the comprehensive subjects covered, you can address diverse questions such as: • How is crime related to unemployment in my state or city? • How much money did the government spend last year on immigration and customs enforcement? Did this figure trend up or down over the previous five years? • What is the impact of weather on U.S. airline on-time rates? • How does the percent change in the medical care component of the Consumer Price Index compare to the percent change in the overall CPI from 1947 to the present? LexisNexis Statistical DataSets is fueled by the most credible sources, including data from: • Government agencies such as the U.S. Census Bureau and the Bureau of Labor Statistics • Global organizations like the World Bank and the World Resource Institute • Academic groups including the China Data Center • Commercial sources such as Standard & Poor’s® and Easy Analytic Software Inc. There may be dubious sources of statistics on the Internet, but LexisNexis Statistical DataSets is vetted and reliable. But is the information current—preferably the latest? Your Cision representative will have complete details. Cision (www.cision.com) and LexisNexis (www.lexisnexis.com) have just announced a strategic alliance that will provide targeted domestic and international news content. Cision clients will be able to search databases from the LexisNexis services, receive alerts as new content is posted, and quickly understand what’s being said about their organization, brands and competitors, or virtually any topic across the globe through CisionPoint’s online language translation tool. For example, through the CisionPoint dashboard, you will also be able to search for recent articles written by a specific journalist. Take a look: Download Results Groups into Microsoft® Excel®—No Limits You can now download any displayed result groups in nexis.com directly to Excel. Downloading results sets is a great, efficient way to compile the names of publications where your company or client companies are mentioned. And you can identify other companies mentioned as well. Here’s how it works: You’ll see will see a new download icon in the left navigation pane when your nexis.com search results are returned. (See below.) Click and download any group displayed at that moment, including all results, to Excel or compatible program. (There are no limits on group numbers!) Expand your results functionality; capture and manipulate summary analysis of your search results easily. Best of all, this option is available for all nexis.com content offerings except Public Records. Exclude Content From Your Research—Before You Search Improve search precision, better manage the size of result sets, and reduce the occurrence of similar or irrelevant hits. Now, right on your Power Search (or Easy Search screen), under your selected source, you’ll notice three new exclusion links. Click to remove short articles (500 words or less), newswires (when you do not need cycle updates) and/or non-business articles, i.e., lifestyle and entertainment articles, obits, birth and wedding announcements, community events, sports, weather and similar articles. Due Diligence Dashboard: More Options Now Available The premium version of Due Diligence Dashboard has just been enhanced to make your research session more effective—and efficient. For example, for more convenient log-in, a new Remember Me checkbox is available on the log-in screen. When you select this option, your ID/password will be stored on your local computer. Click for more details. Once in Due Diligence Dashboard, you’ll also notice: • Time Stamp for Improved Audit Trail: A time stamp is now available above your search results. When you use your print screen functionality, you can provide a time-stamped history of your search—particularly useful in providing an audit trail that a search was conducted when the search yields no results.
