Election of Chairman and Deputy Chairman (File Ref: THB(T)CR 1/1136/2015, CB(3)559/18-19, LS71/18-19, CB(4)950/18-19(01), CB(4)950/18-19(02)) Election of Chairman Mr LEUNG Yiu-chung, the member who had the highest precedence among members of the Bills Committee present at the meeting, presided over the election of the Chairman of the Bills Committee. He invited nominations for the chairmanship of the Bills Committee. 2. Mr Frankie YICK nominated Mr Tommy CHEUNG and the nomination was seconded by Mr LAU Kwok-fan. Mr Tommy CHEUNG accepted the nomination. 3. Mr LEUNG Yiu-chung invited other nominations for the chairmanship. As there was no other nomination, Mr LEUNG Yiu-chung declared that Mr Tommy CHEUNG was elected Chairman of the Bills Committee. Mr CHEUNG then took over the chair. Election of Deputy Chairman 4. The Chairman invited nominations for the deputy chairmanship of the Bills Committee. Mr LEUNG Yiu-chung nominated Mr Jeremy TAM and the nomination was seconded by Mr Charles Peter MOK. Mr Jeremy TAM accepted the nomination. 5. Mr Frankie YICK nominated Mr CHAN Han-pan and the nomination was seconded by Mr YIU Si-wing. Mr CHAN Han-pan accepted the nomination. 6. There being no other nominations, the Chairman announced a vote by secret ballot. After members present had cast their votes, the Chairman invited the nominators Mr LEUNG Yiu-chung and Mr Frankie YICK to - 3 - monitor the counting of votes. Of the members present, four voted for Mr Jeremy TAM and ten voted for Mr CHAN Han-pan. The Chairman declared that Mr CHAN Han-pan was elected Deputy Chairman of the Bills Committee. II Any other business 7. The Chairman said that the next meeting of the Bills Committee would be scheduled for June or July 2019 depending on the availability of members and meeting rooms. Notice of meeting would be issued to members in due course. 8. There being no other business, the meeting ended at 2:23 pm.
