She studied sport management and education at the University of Southern California. Saquandra then went on to receive her J.D. from Stanford University, and right out of law school landed a position with the NFL, working in the legal department. Saquandra dedicated eight years to the NFL, eventually heading the legal department as president. She really enjoyed her job, but wanted to incorporate her love of education into her career somehow. In 2012, she received the opportunity to serve as Athletic Director at Stanford University and was enthralled to use her legal and sport management background while directing athletics at a Division 1 institution. Saquandra helped catapult the athletic department by hiring new coaches for football, basketball, and lacrosse— new hires that led their teams to become champions! Saquandra loved her position at Stanford, but when approached by Nike’s CEO about running Nike University as chancellor, she could not pass up this remarkable opportunity. Saquandra has a lot in the works for Nike University, and will make sure this university achieves academic excellence and innovation, with its students excelling on and off the field. ###.
