The voluminous bathing dresses worn by the Victorians and Edwardians were replaced by short one-piece swim suits for sun-bathing. Doulton artist, Leslie Harradine, was there to record this new fashion in his series of bathers. As with other artists in the Art Deco era, Harradine also modeled nudes, artistically draped in the vividly patterned fabrics of the time. HARRADINE’S NUDE STUDIES WERE PRODUCED FOR ONLY A SHORT PERIOD MAKING THEM VERY RARE TODAY.
