About Indo-Language Families Although different, most European languages come from the same roots—the early Indo- European language. “Indo-European” describes the ancient people who lived in Central Asia more than 5,000 years ago. Over thousands of years, their language changed, divided, and developed into the many languages spoken in Europe today!
