Abstract Present paper intends to study the settlement characteristics of village Kumbhoj in Hatkanangale tahsil of Kolhapur district. It is located at 9 km from the Hatkangale and approached by pucca road. This village is birth place of Padmabhushan Dr. Karmveer Bhaurao Patil. The female agricultural labourers are more than the male and male cultivators are higher than the female. The house-house relation is also very close in central part while it is medium in outer part.
