These organizations may review the programs described in the Catalog and make such recommendations as deemed necessary to ensure continued compliance with their standards. A Student or any member of the public may file a complaint about this institution with the Bureau for Private Postsecondary Education by calling (888) 370-7589 toll-free or by completing a complaint form, which can be obtained on the Bureau’s internet website: www.bppe.ca.gov Institution's approval to operate as a private postsecondary institution in the State of California is based on provisions of the California Private Postsecondary Education Act (CPPEA) of 2009 (California Education Code, Title 3, Division 10, Part 59, Chapter 8), which is effective January 1, 2010. Institution does not have a pending petition in bankruptcy, is not operating as a debtor in possession, has filed a petition within the preceding five (5) years, or has had a petition in bankruptcy filed against it within the preceding five (5) years that resulted in reorganization under chapter 11 of the U.S. Bankruptcy code. (11 U.S.C. Sec 1101 et seq). SELF MONITORING PROCEDURES In an effort to ensure that the Psychoanalytic Center of California is well maintained and operated in compliance with the Bureau for Private Postsecondary Education, the Board of Directors meets the second Monday of every month. The Education Committee, which reports to the Board of Directors, is responsible for directing and administering the teaching activities of the Institute. The Education Committee is lead by the Chief Academic Officer/Dean and meets the first Monday of every month to ensure that the curriculum, standards and guidelines are being maintained. During the Education Committee meetings any suggested educational amendments to the Policies and Procedures are written and discussed for presentation and voting at the Faculty Senate Meetings. The Faculty Senate meetings are held biannually. 3 Amendments to the Policies and Procedures are discussed and approved at the Faculty Senate Meetings by a majority vote of those casting ballots. The Catalog and Student Handbook are thereafter amended bi-annually and updated to reflect the amendments to the Policies and Procedures. In addition, the Office Manager in conjunction with the Dean is responsible for administrative management of the following for purposes of ensuring compliance with the Bureau for Private Postsecondary Education regulations; Database management, Candidate/Student document handling, forms including Enrollment Agreement, and Catalog and Student Handbook updates. The Office Manager also makes sure that the Student Tuition Recovery Fund Assessment Reporting forms are completed quarterly and returned to the Bureau for Private Postsecondary Education with the appropriate fees.
