Acronym for Banff International String Quartet Competition. 2. Renowned string quartet competition; presents the world’s best young quartets under the age of 35, vying for over $300,000 in cash and prizes including international concert tours, a 2-year paid residency at Southern Methodist University, recording opportunities, and a Career Development Grant for all quartets. 3.
