It has been 25 years since a driver won the race in consecutive years, going back to Sterling Marlin’s wins in 1994 and 1995. Hamlin’s win comes on the heels of an emotional 2019 Daytona win, dedicated to J.D. Gibbs, and a season where Hamlin finished fourth in the driver standings.
