Key words: Acmispon, California, Fabaceae, Loteae, North America, Santa Cruz Island. Acmispon argophyllus (A.Gray) Brouillet var. niveus (Greene) Variety niveus is a northern Channel Islands (California) Brouillet, comb. et stat. nov.—TYPE: California. Santa endemic that is distinguished from the closely related southern Cruz Island [s.d.], E.L. Greene s.n. (holotype CAS!, isotype Channel Islands endemic var. adsurgens (Dunkle) Brouillet by (part of type) UC!). stems ascending to erect (vs. erect), less crowded leaves, a silky (vs. silvery) indumentum, smaller umbels (6–10 vs. 10–13 Basionym: Syrmatium niveum Greene, Bull. Calif. Acad. Sci. 2: 148 flowers), and slightly longer calyx lobes (2.5–5.0 vs. 2.5–3.5 mm). (1886).
