Gym Class Thursday and Friday – March 19th-20th Once students complete their gym activity please respond to your child’s teacher what your student did and for how long. Kindergarten-Middle School - If students have internet access, please have them participate in this interactive recess video. https://app.gonoodle.com/activities/tennis-balls-basketballs-and- meatballs?s=category&t=Gross%20Motor%20Skills&sid=29 - After students do the above Go Noodle video, they may pick a few more videos to do after this one, in the coming days. - If students do not have internet access, please do the following at home: o 25 Jumping Jacks o 10 Push-ups o 10 Sit-ups o 1-minute wall sit o 2-minutes of jumping rope (if you do not have a jump rope, practice turning your wrists and jumping) - Come up with an activity to get your heart pumping (15 minutes) – Students may also do this in place of Go Noodle if they chose. walk/run around your house, play basketball, kick a soccer ball, play tag with a parent/sibling, play dodgeball (if you don’t have a ball, use rolled up socks), have a dance party, yoga (http://www.cosmickids.com), simon says, hula hoop, play “the floor is lava”. Preschool - Preschool may do the same Go Noodle song that the Elementary Kids are doing, or they may do the following songs: o The Goldfish (Let’s Go Swimming) – Laurie Berkner o The Freeze Dance – the Kiboomers o We’re Going on a Bear Hunt – the Kiboomers o We’re Going on a Lion Hunt – the Kiboomers o Stand Up, Sit Down – Patty Shukla Kids TV - If you cannot find the songs above, preschoolers may do the following: o Reach high to the sky – 10 seconds o Read down low to your toes – 10 seconds o 10 jumping jacks o 10 second arm circles o Stand and reach – both feet, left foot, right foot – 10 seconds each o Sit on bottoms – reach for both feet, left foot, right foot – 10 seconds each o Sit like a butterfly – 10 seconds o Do a 15-minute activity to get your heart pumping – play tag, kick a ball, throw a ball with a family member, play dodgeball with a ball or rolled up sock, walk/run around your house, play “the floor is lava”, play Simon says, have a dance party.
