However, it does not seek to replicate the information provided in the semi-annual reports that have been submitted throughout the course of the MassCEC grant supporting the establishment of CSE. Instead, the goal is to provide a narrative of the work of Fraunhofer CSE and the manner in which it is completed in order to demonstrate its value and effectiveness. In addition to serving as a potential template for similar renovations of Boston’s historic building stock, the BTS is also an important testbed for energy-saving technologies and materials that could be widely deployed in the Commonwealth in years to come. A separate educational showcase is intended to raise public awareness of building energy efficiency.
